Angie Jones, also known as Stix and Jones, is an American artist living and working in Los Angeles, California. She uses painting, video, and sculpture to investigate how technology invades our lives. Angie deconstructs the work using faceted surfaces (like low polygon video game art) to create something new from something old and make it new again. She maintains one foot in the past and another in the future and questions how we witness art and images. This work exists at the intersection of the physical and digital realms. The interplay between traditional and innovative approaches influences Angie's creative process, prompting us to rethink how history, technology, and science affect our relationship with art. Angie Jones is also not your ordinary artist; she has over 25 years of mastery in Visual Effects and Animation. From Stuart Little, Pan's Labyrinth, and X-Men to the realm of video games with titles like Red Dead Redemption and Abe's Exoddus, her experiences fuel her distinct "peak shift" palette and textured surfaces that dance with personality. Angie's curiosity extends to new media, where blockchain's potential drives her exploration of NFT utilities and the vibrant Web 3.0. In January 2022, her tokens on the Ethereum blockchain vanished within minutes on @OpenSea. Her upcoming drop, @BEASTMOBnft - The Beast Mob, arriving in Summer 2022, will showcase one-of-a-kind masterworks and intricate PFP collections, each a realm of unique narratives and lore within the Metaverse. Featured at Miami Art Basel in 2017 for her Pantone-inspired art, Angie Jones unveiled limited edition Ultra-Violet prints through Saatchi Art's backing. Her work has graced solo exhibitions like Prohibition Gallery (2014) and showcased in venues worldwide, including Rhythms & Visions Expanded Live Show @ USC (2018) and the Huntington Beach Art Center (2016). Her pieces have traveled far and wide, from the Ball State University Atrium Gallery (2015) to the Rockford Art Museum (2011). Her creations have garnered attention in LA Weekly, Apartment Therapy, The Wall Street Journal, and more. Jones holds a degree in Electronic Arts from the Atlanta College of Art and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Laguna College of Art + Design. SHIPPING NOTE: Saatchi Art mandates the use of a crate for artwork over a specific size, and many pieces fall under this category.
