Machine Feminine Print

Jasper Johns: “Take an object. Do something to it. Do something else to it.” I took digital images of old machines, some were broken ready to be discarded, and others were found on the internet. Each digital image of a single object was placed with other digital images of other single objects, then worked on either by deleting parts of the images, and/or recombining parts of an image. Images were then run thru filters in Photoshop, other images had their brightness and contrast adjusted, and other images were just played with as in Machine Feminine Debout 2. and Seated Machine on a Chaise Lounge – Exhibited- Ink Press Repeat 2023, national exhibition Paterson University, Two Part Invention, Wrench Head has echoes of personas, now in exhibition. All are approached with a sense of play. Images are printed on Epson Premium Presentation matte 17 x 22, or 13 x 19 paper Undoubtedly there will always be an undercurrent of something serious in these images, but the bottom line is - I just wanted to play
