ABOUT THE ARTWORK

NIGHTMARE is a digital art rendering of an emotionally disrupting vision and of havoc in the brain or in real life. What could a normal person lead to such a state of affairs within? Or what could he envision it to be in the mind of others he wants to understand and help? When ferocity becomes reality and a feeling person must look on helplessly, as we must during these doomsday events in Turkey, how can we better share their pain and horror and become in union with those who lost everything? Perhaps by way of the artist's ability to envision in art. This work comes in digital print format in limited edition as an 'artist original’. It can also be ordered as prints at . The original format is available at the online gallery in a limited edition of 6 that can be ordered as an original in one of 3 materials: canvas, aluminum, or paper. In Rome, Italy, I was drawing and painting since childhood. When I arrived in New York City with $50 in my pocket, I called a few advertising agencies and got my first job working in the Empire State building. I became a sought-after commercial artist working with Geoffrey Hayes, art director of well-known advertising stints such as his famed Absolute Vodka campaign. My collages of New York City in surrealistic postcards were published and sold by the Metropolitan museum in 1979. I translated my love for the Old Masters into watercolor portraits of their works. On the other hand, my love for surrealism expresses my present stage of introspection in digital works of Surrealistic and Abstract-Expressionistic art. I was photographer Francesca Woodman's boyfriend at the time of her death and I introduce my photo of her as I fused it with my work.
