ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by gold, and its quality of dispersing light and of its rough or coarse property as it is presented in this work. I wanted to create a collection that would create lots of texture and an aesthetic of tactile pleasure. I love the playfulness of this artwork, and wanted to create in the observer the desire to interact with the canvas, and even if a print would not allow for the intended result to feel the variations in roughness, it would at least create an imagined experience of that sensation.

Born in Methuen Massachusetts of Puerto Rican parents in 1970, and uprooted every few years for my Father's Religious Evangelism work was not an easy start, but it is what fostered in me the need for fantasy through my imagination. I recall my Mother sitting me in front of the TV to watch Bob Ross, and I'd become entranced as I watched him paint " pretty little trees", as his voice calmed my young soul. I guess I have always known I'd grow into my identity as an artist even though it took me 4 decades and countless academic and career pursuits. I have also traveled extensively around the World, to arrive in the area of the Pacific Northwest, specifically, Portland, Oregon during the Winter of 2016, to begin my adventure into the art world.
