Back in light Print

I am very passionate about using charcoal to create the subtleties of light and shade on the naked body - to show the beauty in the naked form, in all forms and how the light and darkness falls on the body. I approach my work by putting a lot of dense charcoal on the paper and then sculpting it with tissue to create the body form I see in front of me. How the light hits the body is probably the most important part of the work. For this piece you can see the light is hitting from the left hand side of the body and see the darkness in the folds of skin and upper arm. This piece is made purely from charcoal and paper.
