A still, paused from an old VCR recording he did on the Beat Generation/Naked Lunch and then drawn into the same moleskin notebook vellum paper that he and Kerouac used throughout their careers. He was all over the map in the interview, but selecting this one frame captured the intensity and wry grandeur of the American movement, and his impact on literature and drug/punk culture that he so well represented.

United States
was born in New York City, formally and informally educated up and down the east coast before launching out across the United States during his "Kerouacian" years to refine his trade from the exploration and indulgence of the darker/seamier side of American culture. His work reflects the realistic and interpretive narrative of his travels and experience throughout this time leading into the present. Although its outward appearance may seem dark and foreboding, the inner inspiration is bourne out of personal passion and lovelorn necessity.
