About The Artwork

This picture is a study of the boa constrictor snake drawn in charcoal, pastel and gouache. The study was made from live snakes from a pet shop and those borrowed from a taxidermist, studies were made to inform further 3 dimensional work. They are large studies set on A1 paper and the intention was to draw their flowing forms and interpret the feelings that humans have about snakes as sinister creature.
