Hello! My name is Sasha, I’m from Saint-Petersburg. It just happened that I was born and raised here, in a Russian capital of culture and arts, among palaces, monuments, granite embankments, old cobbled squares, and infinite fuss of the most imaginative people in the world, always on the go under the grey sky, caught in a cable net. However, since my childhood, I used to spend a lot of time away from the city smog, asphalt and Wi-Fi — in villages of the southern Russia or not far from the old town of Pskov. This is a very different world, where the ordered life runs smoothly among lakes and rivers, fields stretching freely to the horizon. There are forest paths along which you can walk barefoot, listening to birds and looking for strawberries. So much brain space frees up when you are there and even the air provides you recovery. And in the evenings, you can sit at home by the warm stove, on which full-bellied cats are nestled, and look at old pictures, listening to grandmother's stories. It was here that I found my inspiration in the aesthetics of the Russian countryside. The little houses and nature of almost forgotten corners of my homeland became the root motive of my works. I fondly get these pieces of the Russian soul down on paper and want to show them to you, so that you can walk along green paths with me to such a warm and cozy house on the outskirts of a Russian village. I am a professional artist with more than ten years of experience and graduated from the Herzen State Pedagogical University at the Department of Graphics of the Faculty of Fine Arts (Master's degree). I studied various graphic and printing techniques, which influenced me a lot. Therefore, the main features of my work are primitivism, illustrative purpose, and a mixture of graphic and painting techniques.
