My name is Tamara Njunjić. I was born on November 28, 1990. Currently, I live in Lazarevac, and work as a art teacher in a high school. From early age I used to draw, I had a very inspiring elementary school teacher. She saw something in me, showed me all different kinds of materials and techniques, taught me the endless possibilities of art. I was interested in fashion, learned about anatomy of human bodies by myself, later started private art school and met other children that were like me-seeing art wherever we looked. Somewhere along the way I realized that it wasn’t just a hobby, it was my biggest passion. I admired and tried to copy great renaissance masters, like Michelangelo, Leonardo and Dürer. Being drawn to modern art, Monet became on of my favourite artist, as well as Van Gogh and William Turner. Anselm Kiefer and Chuck Close I hope to meet and admire in person. Through visual art studies it became natural to me to make art everyday, I wasn't sure what else I wanted to do with my life…art was my world. Through paintings I revived my village, sceneries and houses that were demolished by a mining company. I spent my childhood there. My work became more and more abstracts and that phase lasted couple of years, I needed to get that out of my system. Devotion to nature happened somewhere along meeting my husband, the moment I saw him I knew it was going to be a special journey. The mountains were our safe place, our freedom and endless exploration of Montenegrin highlands and peaks woke something powerful in me, which resulted in the art you see today on my profile. Enjoy!
