Aleksandra has been a professional digital illustrator for over a decade. Her determination allowed her to become a successful freelancer, working with a number of authors and studios despite the fact she is exclusively self-taught and has no formal education connected with graphic design and concept art. She graduated from Anna Curie-Skłodowska in Lublin with a MA degree in English philology. The lifelong passion for traditional painting resulted in enrolling on a BA course in fine art at one of the oldest, most prestigious art academies in Europe - Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. She graduated in 2021. Her painting started of as celebration of beauty, the early pieces are copies of other artists, floral compositions, landscape pieces depicting places she visited during her travels. During that phase the sole purpose of her paintings was to allow the audience to experience pure beauty, comfort them and provide a moment of rest from the outside world. Shortly after being accepted at the Academy she was hired as an art teacher in a private school and started teaching adult groups classes like concept art, digital illustration, game design, traditional drawing and oil painting, to name but a few. Gradually, her work started departing from realism and photorealism and took a more impressionist turn. The subject was still reather light and focused on the aesthetic qualities. With each painting she was trying to master the craft, as she deems the form equally important as the subject matter of her works. The most recent period reveals compositions that are more somber in mood. Extremely sparse use of color reflects the mood of the scenes, which revolve around timeless sociopolitical and psychological issues, even more poignant during the recent times of unrest.
