ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspiration for this piece is Depot Town in the early summer light. This depicts the carriage house and part of the depot on opposite sides of the tracks. I enjoy the loose marks that make the scene have an atmospheric perspective as structures in the distance seem to disappear in the light. I used charcoal on Rives Printmaker's paper and worked back into the charcoal with the eraser working up what almost appears as a mesh, lines and strokes intertwined to make up a few details. The drawing has white margins on all sides
