Live Motion Drawing / 22 Print

This drawing is one of a set of ink drawing produced using calligraphy brushes during a live motion drawing session with dancer Fiona Keenan-O'Brien at An Táin Arts Centre, Dundalk, Ireland, 18th December 2020. The event, enabling local artists to produce live motion sketches while watching a permanently moving dancer, was organized by local artist Orlaith Cullinane and similar in set-up as a previous event documented here: https://aaex.artspark.ie/live-motion-drawing It took place during a short period of loosened COVID restrictions just before Christmas 2020, providing a rare opportunity to meet up with other artists, albeit socially distanced and masked, to engage in a contemplative sketching practice over several hours. Some of the set of my drawings were exhibited as part of the online exhibition Staying Creative in Times of COVID, facilitated by Creative Spark, Dundalk, and were presented at a Zoom presentation with the same title, organized by Creative Spark and AAEX (Art as Exchange). https://artspaces.kunstmatrix.com/en/exhibition/4240985/staying-creative-in-times-of-covid The numbering of sketches is random and does not represent the order in which they were produced. The drawings are torn from a sketch book, the rough edge on the torn side should be preserved.
