ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Wildlife, nature, and beautiful colors are always the main inspiration to my pieces. "Mary, Bob, and Sue" is representative of the family bond. Penguins are soul mates and they go above and beyond raising their children. They are also representative of purpose and order. There are aspects of determination and patience associated with their lifestyle and child rearing practices. When viewers see my work, I hope it resonates beauty, simplicity, and the wonder of nature and wildlife that I instill in all of my pieces. My works are meant to share the delicate and unique qualities of each subject. Wildlife and nature are such a huge and wonderful aspect to our world and they should never be overlooked or forgotten. Colored Pencils and ink pens are my main mediums. I love the control I have over the colored pencils and the opposing forces of color vs. black inks. My art is highly inspired by Canadian culture. I have a deep respect for the individual cultures here and am proud to be able to add my own style/take on the fantastic artists who have inspired me.
