*** FURTHER PRICE CUTS ON ALL MY ARTWORK *** My drawings are designed to be eye-catching and colourful and the aim is to produce original and interesting artwork that will brighten up the wall in any room, office or any public space. I use a mixture of black ink pens, gel pens and coloured pencils to create the finished effect, drawing and colouring in my images on 300gsm white card. My work is highly detailed and are all my drawings are drawn freehand. I love using vibrant colours to portray nature, animals, landscapes or abstracts. I also produce pen and ink drawings in black. I have always painted and drawn but my retirement has thankfully allowed me to spend far more time on my art. I am self-taught. I greatly admire the French impressionists and especially Georges Seurat, a French post-impressionist artist, best known for devising the technique of pointillism, who sadly died at the age of just 31. The pointillism technique sees small, distinct dots of colour applied in patterns to form an image. I use a similar dot system in many of my drawings. I was born in London and lived there until my late teens. Having retired six years ago after a lifetime working as a news journalist I now live in Ashford, Kent, UK. I have travelled extensively throughout my life and now usually spend 6 months of each year in Kenya. Contact: alastair.irvine2@btinternet.com for more information.
