Drawing: Pencil and Charcoal on Paper. Sketch Title: Poolside Relaxing your mind and body while hanging on the pools edge. This drawing is a part of a collection of sketches that are an emotional reflection of journeys in my mind and physical world. On July 22,2000 I was assaulted with acid rendering me with scars 80 percent of my body. My art is an expression of the pain, defeats, survival, victories and great losses. No longer seeing myself as a victim but as a Survivor. Journeys as I slept. “Poolside” is one of the original sketches from my book “Induced Coma”, an unpublished book of original poems and sketches in a story format. My sketches are a surreal look at my life. Images of nude women with beautiful forms not usually showing their faces. Reflection of myself and love of the human form. Everyone looking different. An expression of solidarity. “I am you, you are me.”
