BESTETTI THE PAINTER Luca Bestetti was born in Milan on October 10th 1964. He went to the '' cartoons & illustration school of Milan '' in the picturesque Via Savona 10 in old town Milan right across the old Naviglio river. During his school years, inspired by the master Giorgio de Chirico, he studied different art techniques starting with pencil & charcoal drawing, oil painting and sculpting. His art is strongly influenced by the long and daily conversations with numerous painters and artists met in his family's home in Via Margutta in Rome. His family, at the time, owned a very prestigious Art books publishing company , the '' Bestetti and Tumminelli ''. This company was founded in 1915, by his great-grandfather, Emilio Bestetti in Milan and in Rome and was continued by the family and his father Carlo Bestetti. Emilio Bestetti wanted to keep his " independency ''. He founded and started different art magazines and had some of the most brilliant writers and artists of that era working for him. :''Art can have many different way of expression. That doesn't diminish its expressiveness and or the value of the artists'' , says Luca Bestetti . The artist can express himself not only with painting but in many different other ways, just like it was stated by the ''Futurism'' which gave a strong influence to the Bestetti art . Among the illustrators of the '' Bestetti Art Editions '' we have very significative names in the art history of the last century , many of those artists became close friends of the Bestetti family such as Gregory Sciltian , Renato Guttuso and Giorgio de Chirico himself, with whom Luca spent years learning and drawing . Bestetti had the art in his veins. His great-grandfather, in fact, painted the best reproduction of the '' last supper '' of Leonardo da Vinci , today still stands in the chapel of Santa Maria delle grazie, in Milan . Using a mechanic tool at a very young age, Bestetti looses the use of one arm , that was completely reattached with micro surgery about a month after the accident. Only the love for the art gave him the strength to fully recover despite the doctors said would have been impossible . Luca Bestetti, had his interest as much in art, as in music , psychology , and restoring vintage motorcycles . At Giorgio de Chirico's death, who was his master and inspiration, Luca drops his paint brushes, burned his paintings, and left school heading back to the United States .
