ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Yupo paper I used inspired me to be loose and play with the graphite pencil. It started off just playing and became 2 trees, with light and shadow shapes. It is a strong work of art that would have a presence on any wall. I love to draw and paint trees and everything about them. I used to climb them and be in them, as high as I could. Trees thrill me, and now I see them as a tribe of their own.

I am a fine art painter and sculptor, and have practiced art all of my life. My main focus in art is "beauty". I work from my heart. At this time in my life, I prefer to express myself in the figurative and landscape genres, using watercolor, charcoal, and oil painting. I won a Gold Medal of Honor in 1976 at the American Watercolor Society that was held at the National Academy of Design in New York City for my painting called, "The Years".
