Art Description

Drawing: Acrylic, Ink, Rubber Stamp, Gesso on Paper.

Zen Chicken Scratch was created with a soft rubber painting tool that has a sawtooth edge. I pulled the ragged edge through the acrylic ink in a chicken scratchy drawing dance. When the chicken scratch layer was dry I rubbed an oval head in gesso. When the gesso was dry I stamped the Dada eye with archival ink.

My work features coincidental and unexpected connections which make it possible to imagine other possible outcomes from mingling, synthesizing, and uniting fortuitous elements. Merging unrelated visual ingredients can result in surprising analogies and insights. Spontaneous calligraphic drawing is part of my meditation and creativity practice.
