My name is Sri Moelyono Kurniawan, a 25-year-old man from Yogyakarta who has a Bachelor degree in Architecture from Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta. My thesis, “Kampung Vertikal”, is an idea which talks about patterns in human interactions with the ecosystem in a single place. In the thesis, I try to combine the necessities of human to interact with the existed ecosystem. Within this frame, I also try to implement Rem Koolhaas’ theory “S-M-L-XL” to accomplish the effectiveness of one place to accommodate the necessities of the living things to interact. While doing the research, I worked at GHS, an architecture studio) and Bengkel Serat, a furniture design studio from 2012 to 2014. Being worked there, I found an enlightenment of the necessities to interact with buildings. It represented by the work of the office design which was set by the aspect of aperture to the amount of heat which can be absorbed by the building. In the middle of 2014, I encouraged myself to be an intern of Budi Pradono, an architect who is an influence in the Indonesian architecture. During the internship, I was able to get involved in designing and expressing in the field of furniture to the urban field. The openness and the necessities of the living things to interact gave me the big picture of the interactions of the elements which were applied in the architecture. At this moment, I am working at MINT-DS. I am involved in a curriculum-based school “Dream School”. It is a design which applies the basic concept of interaction of a building with flora and fauna surrounding. Further, this concept become the foundation in designing the building.
