Inspiration comes from simple things. "People sit in armor. This is an interpretation of an artist who sits in his armor and must defend his inspiration and idea from criticism." I was inspired by the design of Christopher Dresser. Simplicity of things that have their own peculiarity.

In the works of Kateryna Kosetelna, everything is built around lines and strokes. Using various materials and techniques, the author reserves the right to her own recognizable handwriting, where from among the lines and spots, she prefers the lines. Given the history of the artist, from the very beginning, the emphasis in her work has always been on the line and untidy touch, due to the teaching of weaving. It is through working with textiles that the understanding of texture technology has emerged. Later, Edward Gore's approach and work influenced and rethought his own graphic works on burdens, gradually making them difficult by using the same lines. All this applied to both painting and graphics. The spot in the works was only a complementary element of the main lines, although in some works the line and the spot contrast, fighting for the viewer's attention. The use of color is an auxiliary element, and the plots themselves in one way or another tell the stories of the author. The variety of compositional solutions also motivates the viewer to visual search in the work itself. Currently, Kateryna is gradually moving from painting to graphics, increasingly finding her vocation in working with this genre, even when it comes to work on canvas. The works give preference to a decorative approach and lightness, weightlessness of the line in combination with untidy, already recognizable hatching. Thanks to the Ukrainian print, we have the opportunity to observe a new stage in the development of the artist's work.
