About The Artwork
This Artwork is part of an on-going series begun in 2018 and after taking a couple of Arabic art and calligraphy introductory workshops at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. This ink drawing was done on a sheet of Canson grey coloured pastel paper. Black , white and some gold coloured ink was used, together with highlights in green, orange and red watercolour. The aim was to create a purely decorative, abstract and whimsical gestural mark-making design, very loosely inspired by the fluid curves of Arabic alphabet letters.
