This is a Graphite depiction of a Manual Turntable at Minehead Railway Station in Somerset, UK. The Station is part of the West Somerset Railway which is a small private Steam Railway operating today. The Turntable was recently built as a copy of the original Turntable used in the age of Steam. It conjures up imaged of days gone by and demonstrates the engineering from the days of the Steam Engine in the UK. The setting shows the new of the Buildings behind and the old of the Turntable in the foreground and as a frequent visitor to this site inspired me to complete this Piece.
