About The Artwork

My research on Art is focused on the relationship between animal kingdom and humankind in modern times. ANOMàLI series: composed by paintings made by acrylic or charcoal on canvas/wood. The main subjects are the animals and investigates on their feelings compared to ours. Using sarcasm I try to imagine them as a “victim” of the contemporary humans behavior; dressing clothes rather than having technological parts on their bodies. To use irony I think it’s a usefull way to face serious and important arguments as endangered animal species, deforestation and habitat at risk, pollutions and many other aspects connected. I always put a lot of importance in my artworks titles, using wordpun in support of the paintings subject.Monkey as a “place”, or better a time, or even better a step from where the humankind come from, according to the human evolutions theories. As I said before, I always put a lot of importance on my artworks titles, and also in this case the title describe, through a wordpun, the meaning of the project. Technically it’s my porpouse to focus my work on a new drawings series about primates made by coal. Coal that has a symbolic value in this case. Humankind as a heritage, born from the ancestors ashes. Humankind that still live in the same time and place with his ancestors. And again coal as a symbol of the oppression of men against animals, coal is what reamains of burned part of jungle. Basically is HUMONKEYND a project dedicated and in support of the nature and a “hommage” to the LIFE itself. Last but not least is this project a reminder of how is important to preserv every single gift that this planet offers us
