About The Artwork
From an early age ‘we’ are taught how to think, how to look, how to behave. The human soul and consciousness is conditioned for “this world”, a world where true creation cannot flourish to its full potential. A set of glass candy canisters- filled with shredded school art textbooks, set against a coloured backdrop, the artist plays and comments upon the creative education we receive from a young age, something which the artists believes needs to be detached from confined academic boundaries, adopting a more humanistic and liberal approach to our cultural educational upbringing.

Robby Ogilvie (b. 1986) is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and creative from and based in Edinburgh, Scotland. After studying Product Design at undergraduate Ogilvie went on to complete his MA Contemporary Art Theory at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2011. Make Something Or Be forgotten will be Ogilvie's first public showing from his physical practise.
