Autumn Foundation Print

The day was short and peaceful, but who was not at peace was myself. Mother had passed a while ago and mourning her loss, I had run out of ideas for my fine art drawings. Every time I had started something, I would be reminded of her presence to compliment my artwork, and I couldn't ever find the time to finish it. Frustrated and upset, there would be countless times when I'd throw paper away and fill the recycling can to be taken out countless days. But today was different, though. Eyeing in my dismay, a recently crumpled up paper had actually started to form some interesting shapes and patterns, and with a very sudden burst of creativity I pulled it out of my trash and got to work! And tracing around the fine lines and coloring in with my supplies, manipulating the artwork once again reminded me of the exhilaration, the rush, the enjoyment of it all, but filled with melancholy colors, I couldn't help but think about Mom again til the lasting remnants of her face and memory had appeared in the picture itself. Curly hair, shining eyes, warming smirk, it was suddenly all there again, but now I was at peace as she would want me to be.
