ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A digital pastel painting on a paper canvas of an early 20th century dress design by French designer Jacques Doucet, who was known for designs made of sheer fabrics and layers of pastel colors. Doucet designed for several actresses of the time, including the stage actress Sarah Bernhardt. The original illustration appeared in the French fashion magazine La Gazette du Bon Ton. My updated adaptation is significantly more colorful with an Art Deco flair in shades of aqua, royal blue, red, yellow and white.

I prefer the worlds my mind creates to the one in which I live, and though I create all my art to please myself as a rule, nothing thrills me more than when it speaks to someone else as it does me.
