Andrea Johns is a native of Lawton, OK and a graduate of Cameron University. She is a self-taught artist who discovered a passion for painting while watching her mother paint when she was a young child. Her artwork focuses primarily on abstract art and expressionistic landscapes. Andrea tends to use different mediums to capture her subjects using materials such as Alcohol-Ink, fluid acrylic, pastel, and oil paint. She genuinely enjoys and loves painting. She is in her happy place when she has a brush in her hand a blank canvas in front of her. To her, painting is very therapeutic. She has learned that she can express her feelings, emotions, or thoughts through art. She won the City of Lawton Art Purchase Award for 2023 and received recognition by the city in 2024.
