I’m a huge fan of texture in my paintings! I love adding thick layers of paint (impasto technique), scratching the painted canvas (sgraffito technique), I greatly enjoy including and upcycling fabrics, embroidery, feathers, leaves, pressed flowers or other (found) objects in my works. I’m even thinking about thinning out my coins collection for this purpose 😬♥️ The main reason I love creating this tangible appearance is for the unique, aesthetic, unusual and artistic value. I think there is a magical combination of surprise and familiarity to be found, a real (hi)story to be heard and an instant happiness and pleasure to be felt in the body. The positive impact on the environment when upcycling is just as important. Resources are saved, waste is reduced and awareness is increased. And when I think about the fact that, for example, traditional romanian embroidery hand sewn by my grandmother when she was young, which until recently was lying in a drawer, is now part of a painting made by me and has all the above qualities, my heart genuinely fills with happiness, satisfaction and love♥️ Here is the painting “Sisters” from the Sisterhood series. A painting about pure love between two different flowers of the same garden, where the top sister has also a motherly appearance, inspiring protection and care. * original art, mixed media in oil & 𝐮𝐩𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐜 on cotton canvas * impasto technique * 55/40 cm * infinity frame (painted edges, no additional frame needed) * signed & dated * Authenticity Certificate * ready to hang

Born in the fairytale city of Brașov, I spent my childhood in a big house where I lived with the whole family on my father's side: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, dogs, cats and chickens :). Recently I have come to the conclusion that it was my grandfather who influenced me the most in my life. He was a sports teacher and taught me : how to ride a bike, play tennis, billiards, chess and other board games ( using beans as game pieces ) and used to tell us a lot of fantasy stories. He loved to paint and I`m sure I also got this from him! I have a travel and tourism degree ( and wanderlust in my blood ), I love tennis, astrology, chess, biking, reading and I have always had art-related hobbies : I love photography and people say I have a good eye for it, I have always painted my clothes, bags, shoes, even skis, I’ve been collecting coins since childhood for their beauty, for their esthetic value and geographical characteristics, I have hairstyling skills and fashion sense. I have started to paint more actively around 2017, and in 2018 I have started a small business by hand-painting vintage bags when: BANG!!! I rediscovered myself, it was like my alter ego suddenly came out; I could not think of anything else but painting, I could not stop imagining the process and the way it made me feel, I was like hypnotised and I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life! I started painting a lot in a variety of mediums, learning and reading a lot about it and after a while I started taking art courses at Magda Vacariu Art School, which were interrupted by the pandemic, but the learning continued, as I am a devoted autodidact and the curiosity, desire and huge love for painting motivated me. When I paint I am complete and I have that authentic feeling of inner peace!
