The interconnectedness of violence and vulnerability Print

Digital work based on my drawing that was created after watching a movie that explored an abusive relationship. As I pondered the reasons behind people's violence, an image came to me of a vulnerable man looming over a vulnerable woman, his weakness masked by her fear. As the overflow of her distress filled his being, so grew his illusion that he is bigger and stronger than her. Violence and vulnerability, feeding each other and flowing into each other, like an eternal Uroboros without beginning or end, lacking an explanation of which came first; a silent repetition of a chicken and an egg story. Two coexisting entities that cannot be separated nor destroyed without acknowledging the existence and the weaknesses of both.
