Zorro is an acrobat and expert in various weapons, but the one he uses most frequently is his sword, which he often uses to carve the initial "Z" on his defeated enemies and other objects. He is also a skilled rider, his trusty steed is a black horse called a Tornado. In most versions, Diego learned his swordsman skills during university in Spain and created his masked alter ego after being unexpectedly summoned home by his father because California had fallen into the hands of an oppressive dictator.
