Art Description

New Media: Charcoal, Photo, Digital, Manipulated on Paper.

Asobu means playing. Playtime is the space of immersion in his imaginary world where everyday things become subjects of a great and feral hunt. This playful side may be less frequent than his kitten years but it is as captivating. His playful self at rest watches over, a brief pause yet in an instant returns to hunt the elusive ribbon, leaf, feather or tassel. I think the playfulness of cats is one of their most entertaining characteristics. They map out a stage for us in our homes and quite literally re-enact the memories of wilderness, activating their deep wild as though for our sheer pleasure.
