The seemingly wreckless shift in world politics is nowhere more sharply apparent than in the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. For the opposition, and for much of the free world, this is a fearful time to be alive.
In response, I wrote a poem, 'American Roulette', that addresses the intense need to be proactive in opposing racism and division in society, making it clear that there is no fence to sit on. The quote commonly attributed to Edmund Burke runs “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men should do nothing.”
Despite being pleased with the poem, I felt it needed still more impact. A friend suggested I 'cast' the poem as the gun implied by the poem, and this print emerged from the foundry of those ideas.
