About The Artwork
This piece is an appreciation for Nigerian culture and heritage specifically in the Fulani culture. The fabric used to create 'facial features' is called Khasa - The Khasa are strip-woven wool blankets from the Fulani people in West Africa. It is a representation the Fulani people. Taking pieces of the fabric symbolises the way we sometimes dilute parts of ourselves to create a new version that we consider socially acceptable
