Screen VHK 10 Print

This project for a screen, or room divider, or biombo as we call where I live, is designed based on the ornamental designs done by the Ukrainian modernist architect, painter, set designer, graphic designer, furniture & other utilitary items designer, ethnologist, museologist, pedagogue, History and Arts consultant for the new Ukrainian Film industry Vasyl H Krychevsky in 1945 - 1952 (although many were done since ~1900). The great majority of his works - paintings, designs, drawings, manuscripts, collection of Ukrainian art, folk art from 10 centuries were lost in the fire of Kyiv bombardment by the bolshevicks, in february 1918. The first projectiles impacted his studio-home, in the mansarde of the building of president Myjailo Hrushevsky. Later, when the family had to escape first from Kyiv to Lviv, Occidental Ukraine, then to Chekoslovaquia, then through 6 more countries until reached France. They moved to Venezuela, where he died 4 years later. The originals of these ornamental designs were donated to different museums in Ukraine by the family.
