About The Artwork

The beach is the beach of Venice, the ocean is the Atlantic Ocean around Fuerteventura, a Canary Island, the sky is clouds over Sedona and the giraffe somewhere outside Africa. I like to combine animals or other things with places and landscapes that don't really belong together. I also change the proportions or sizes of the animals. The discrepancy should not be noticed directly. Only on the second look you should notice that something does not correspond to reality. In the pictures I try to transport moods, to intensify feelings through colour and light. I moved to Los Angeles in the 80s and back to Germany in the 90s, but my heart stayed at the west coast. Besides doing a lot of watercolors of Los Angeles, I worked on my desert series for a while. Right now I moved on to bright colored abstracts. These prints on aluminum are ready to be hung. Prints in this size are in limited editions of 18, signed, numbered and dated, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
