This piece is a combination of an oil painting I did in 2018 from a photograph of my son, as a model, not a subject. I was going through a phase of introspection on my childhood, pain and my own mortality, which I realised later on when I moved on to a new phase. 2020 being stranded at home without a painting studio I have spent a great deal of time working and developing my skills on photoshop. Somehow it led me to re-exploring my photographs which have been dormant on my server for years. And somehow again, by combining them with my paintings, they have both found a new life and a new meaning. I think this exploration has given my work a more poetic and accomplished feel.
