ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Sometimes there are no words to describe the emotions I feel when I look at a finished piece. This is one of them. But every time I look at it there's a wave of nostalgia. The scene is always the same - my father in a dance hall with the Army band, trumpet in hand, my mother dancing with servicemen, both just waiting for fate to step in and introduce them.

...It's not about creating the masterpiece. It's about creating inner peace... I'm an abstract artist located in the desert of Southern California. I use acrylics and resin on either canvas or wood, creating pieces for smaller places to large scale focal features. The desert surrounding my home offers me views of beautiful but muted earth tones. Therefore my pallet is bold, bright to contrast the beauty around me. I also find cityscapes intriguing - the hard lines, silvers and grey, the mixed emotions of success and struggle. My biggest inspiration comes from music. My vision will be clear, but the true work doesn't begin until the needle is resting on the spinning vinyl releasing voices of long ago. I have an ongoing love affair with acrylics. the manipulation of density, the blending of colors... how they take on a life of their own. I can use them in their original form, thin them, stretch them... they are always so tolerable of my abuse.
