About The Artwork

This is an original work of art, not a print. It is highly textured with various materials. This piece actually incorporates real sliced shells. It has been sealed with a high gloss varnish for protection that makes the colors very vibrant. It was created on a sturdy acrylic panel so so glass is required when framed. You will want to touch this piece and get lost looking at all the little detail. Just lovely. • Measures•• 13 5/8" x 16 1/2"

Once I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I moved out west. After over 30 years of living in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, working in the graphic design field, I have moved back to my home of Ohio to finally settle and completely focus on my fine art. I am a contemporary mixed media artist. My abstract work is full of vibrant color and unusual textures. I love experimenting with unusual materials and mediums as well as incorporating the standards. My process involves applying many layers of color and texture to create an intricate and complex story. I have pursued developing my fine art for many years along with years of working in many different art fields such as graphic design, screen printing, advertising and custom casino signage. All these various disciplines have helped develop my my fine art skills as well. My inspiration comes from everything around me, especially nature. The textural element of my work is important to me. I work on anything and everything ... paper, canvas, foam core, sintra, old wood and more. Everything is art material to me. Soon to come you will see hand painted furniture to clothing, purses and shoes. I love it all but my first love is contemporary abstract mixed media painting. ____________________ http://kathymortonstanion.com about.me/KathyMortonStanion artfinder.com/kathy-morton-stanion etsy.com/shop/KathyMortonStanion http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueHeartStudio http://facebook.com/KathyMortonStanionArtist www.facebook.com/ArtistKathyMortonStanion https://twitter.com/kmortonstanion http://pinterest.com/KathyStanion/ http://society6.com/kathymortonstanion http://kathy-stanion.fineartamerica.com http://KathyMortonStanion.ebsqart.com
