About The Artwork

From the series 'Natura artis magistra' ('master of art is nature'; Latin). Contemporary environmental art. The images in the series are based on or inspired by more or less modified patterns of natural beings - animals and plants. The hidden beauty of nature often appears on creatures we wouldn’t even expect and pay no attention to them. Although they are not exotic creatures, they live here with us. In their pattern created by nature, we can discover most of our art style trends: geometric folk art patterns, baroque ornamentation, abstract expressionism, minimalism, and much more. Agaricus bisporus (common mushroom, white mushroom, button mushroom, or champignon) is the best known mushroom species; it is often encountered in meadows, forests, or in cultivated form. This digital picture, together with my other digital works, belongs to a genre that could be called 'file art', which means it is not a copy. There is no original: the prints are not reproductions, each one is equally original. New art requires a new approach from artists and collectors alike.

Shipping & Returns

I was born in 1954 in Budapest, Hungary, where I still líve. I work as a professional painter and graphic artist. Although I do not like to exhibit, I have had many exhibitions in my country and abroad. I am interested in everything that is related to painting: many different styles, techniques and I like to try them all. Three of my books about art are published now. In the past I painted mainly after nature, but for a while I have become more interested in digital imaging.
