As I came to the end of my career as a Navy Pilot (F-14, F-18, A-4), and moved on to my current career in the commercial aviation industry, I felt there was an opportunity to put down on canvas some of the incredible sights that I have had the great fortune to have experienced. I have many more aviation moments to get down onto canvas and am looking forward working through the process. All of my art craft has been gleaned from text, observation, and inquiry. Like Naval Aviators, pelicans fly over the oceans in stormy nights or calm seas so out of respect I paint them as well. I like to use oil and palette knives on the birds to give them significant depth and texture.
