Bio My name is Yana Shapoval. I was born in the small town Pereyaslav, Ukraine. At an early age, the ability to draw appeared. Art has always been close to me, and I have been painting ever since I can remember. When I was at the medical university , I entered the Monmartre art studio, where I studied painting and drawing. Studying in the studio was like meditation for me, then I fell in love with painting, bright colors, and oil paints. A detailed study of medical anatomy helped me get a good sense of the proportions of the body and face when drawing people. When I was 28 years old, I realized that painting is what I want to devote all my time to. Art is my love and passion. I am currently creating pointillism art. Artist Statement People and portraits are my favorite subjects in paintings. Every time I paint a new artwork, I seem to create a new person on canvas. I collect it from bright colors, dynamic strokes, unusual shades, textured dots. I like to focus on portraits because the face is an important part of how we express.ourselves. After all, the face of each person is unique, every face is mysterious. A person's face can tell a story. Try reading it. I love bright, pure, contrasting colors that are full of energy and light. The style of my work is pointillism. My artworks are a reflection of people in the modern world with their incredible dynamism and inconsistency.
