I went horse riding in dense fog in the Andalusian mountains. The visibility was so low for the whole ride - visually everything looked so d...

Emma Plunkett has a life-long unwavering devotion to art. Her main concerns are with form and colour. She is known for her unique and expressive style, which often combines clean and vibrant colours and intricate details to create captivating and original compositions. Emma is of 100% Irish decent, born and educated in London. She has a degree in Fine Art from the University of East London. Throughout her adult life Emma has put on music and art events, where she exhibits and projects her videos. From 1996 onwards Emma started vision mixing her art videos live, as a VJ (video projection artist) under the name Miss Plunkett. First on the London club scene and then from spring 2002 her path took her to Barcelona, Ibiza and then Amsterdam. By Autumn Emma continued her journey south to the province of Granada, in the south of Spain. She continued to video project at festivals and party's, collaborating on a mobile dance space in an 11m dome, where she also created decor and installations. She met her husband in 2006 (#crs1138) while VJing and they became a team. He brought lots of fun VJ opportunities in the Czech Republic. Emma's art has been exhibited on the Costa Tropical, in the cities of Granada and Malaga, the Costa del Sol and in the local community of Órgiva. For a couple of years, Emma was president of the local art group in Órgiva, where she was also putting on large group exhibitions in historical buildings. Emma moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2020, where she now lives and works – concentrating on stoneware sculpture, video art and painting. Emma exhibits regularly with El Centre Cívic El Coll – La Bruguera, Collaboration Station and is a member of the Artmixture Collective. The underlying sentiment in Emma's artwork is about the female experience from a woman's perspective. Her work is ever evolving as she experiments and explores ways to portray the female body in a manner which is both genuine and empowering. Themes include performers, friendship, surrealism, candid scenes, florals, abstracts and single items from her life such as her bed, a croissant or even just a cup of coffee.
