Some images belong in eternal celebration... this is one of them that I chose to not allow it to be forgotten, a young black youth who climbed up on top of the platform that once held the statue of a racist slave trader. When it comes to the #blm movement, taking down these statues of horrid racist slave owners and traders is actually the very least society can do. I am shocked we are only now seeing this happen after so many years, centuries. Two focal points using the same color, creates tension between them, as well thru use of the white and black. There is also a rest area to the right that has numerous repetitive lines in the sky, that leads back to another focal point of the upside down statue of a British slaver who trafficked an estimated 84,000 people from Africa to the Americas. The statue of Edward Colston was pulled down by protesters and rolled along the pavement, and dumped into a harbor in the United Kingdom. The bright orange yellow sky is balanced by the heavier black and reds.
