DG Clark is a Southern California artist, photographer and designer who now specializes in abstract and modern art paintings. She was influenced early in life by the creativity of her father, a fine jeweler, and her actress aunt who would seat her next to the director while she made movies. Moving to California with her family at age 15, she enrolled herself at Cerritos college where she studied computer programming, drafting, photography and art. While there she also studied painting under Professor Deleone, a student of Picasso. DG Clark had a successful career in commercial art and graphic design which culminated in the creation of her own design company in Huntington Beach, CA. Struggling with scoliosis since childhood, she was forced to quit the business and have corrective back surgery due to her deteriorating condition. During a long recuperation, she turned to painting as a therapy to focus her energy in a positive direction. This was the beginning of the "Life Series." After completing several paintings, she put the top down on her MGB and drove to Laguna Beach on a summer Sunday with the intention of showing photos of her work to a gallery to get some feedback. The curator was so impressed that she booked DG for her first gallery exhibit that Fall. Painting now for over 30 years, her works are in numerous private collections and have been hung at galleries and exhibitions in Southern California and Las Vegas.
