These are boathouses from the banks of Memphremagog lake in Quebec. I used the palette knife and painted freely in an almost instant gesture. The boathouses seem to be floating with movement of the waves on the lake!

Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1968, I developed a taste for drawing from the age of eleven and started painting at the age of nineteen. After a school switch from business administration to art studies, I completed a college degree in visual arts at Cegep of Sherbrooke in 1988 as well as a university degree in art history and studio at Concordia University in 1994. I have presented several exhibitions in the Townships and Montreal for roughly 25 years. In 1995, I obtained a technical degree in graphic design at Maisonneuve College in Montreal. I have worked in print production , graphic design and multi-media for several notorious companies such as Transcontinental, Sherwood Hockey, BRP, Kimpex and Bluberi Gaming USA for the last 20 years. I now work in my studio full time as a painter and freelancer. Artist Statement: Art provides freedom of expression that can transform the universe. Painting for me is foremost an action that is asserted through gestures and imagination. An action that establishes benchmarks and translates the unique expression of the artist. It is also a decision-making process, choosing a specific path to express one’s vision.
