Bund in Shanghai, China, in Front of the Custom House (Clock Tower) is a gouache painting of The Bund, one of Shanghai's top attractions. From here you can view Shanghai's modern skyline on the east side of the Huangpu River and Shanghai's British colonial skyline on the west side. It's a topsy-turvy mix of East and West. The clock tower is actually the old Custom House building. FangFang and I came here a day before our trip to Myanmar. Our evening in Shanghai was spent getting utterly soaked in the pouring rain, which like Forrest Gump says in the film, "We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin’ rain… and big ol’ fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath."
