Cecilia is a gentle, quirky and passionate artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1986. Lives and works in London, UK. Mercurial Hallucinations is her most recent series of paintings and collages. This series, developed since 2013, reflects on her life-long interest in observing nature, the origins of life and the realization of the impermanence and uncertainty of existence. By utilising these subjects she attempts to inspire the viewer to realign with themselves and their surroundings and to explore the tension generated between the physical description of reality and fictional descriptions that involve the imaginative—or even hallucinatory—faculties. She wants to seize these contradictions and discover what lies underneath the surface, highlighting the invisible links that maintain universal connections. Her methodology, then, consists of a play between the created world and her own subjectivity by a process that is intuitive and spontaneous. "That impulse that runs through your body and won't let you sleep. The electricity of touching some skins. The fire which is lit in the presence of inspiration. It ignites and burns. Hope. The states of the mind. Heaven and Hell inside our own personal world that expands with art. It flows like water from within. Colours emerge like words from the fingers of those who write poetry. Turbulent and silent impulses like waves of a sea in the middle of the night. And the light of day. Light of the morning. Flowers by the window. Music climbing up the walls. You can see the river. The river that melts with the flow of the soul. That river that is sound and is silence. It's warmness and it's time. The beauty of days inside this body. Those small gifts from the Universe which explode in huge works of art. As mysterious as Nature is Art. As mysterious as Nature is our inner whirlwind of emotions, tidal wave of colours that only wills to escape. To give, to teach, to set free, to speak without words. Unpronounceable wisdom.
