About The Artwork

“Approaching” This series illustrates a special moment just before the start of a new painting project – one very personal and important for me, to which I have been preparing for several years. It reflects a process in which many experiences, sensations, thoughts, effects of intensive work and exploration are getting closer and closer to each other, almost forming a new entity, the new world is almost emerging at the meeting of many levels of reality. It is not only the movement of the horses that symbolizes this approaching, just as horses are not the only subject of these paintings. These creatures of volatile beauty leave hardly anyone indifferent, but in my paintings equally important are the structures and densities that almost create their form, which is never complete, reminding spinning dust, movement of particles. Diffusing and overlapping planes create space around and within forms without clear boundaries. Form and space are approaching materialization in physical shapes, but the process is still going on. Painting horses is also a joyful meeting with their perfection, which combines gentleness and sensitivity with power and majesty. Imagining their dynamics, I follow the rhythm and pulsating movement that becomes the pace and tact of my world. I want to record the transient charm of this moment, frame it like captured memories of a journey into myself. Memories that are fleeting, idealizing, changing unnoticed into notions, which create entirely new variants and probabilities. "Approaching" is an illustration of this special time, it is about the process that is a next step towards the fullness.

I live in Wroclaw, Poland. My main fields of interest are painting, illustration, graphics, drawing, poster, collage and artistic education. I am a graduate of the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw (MFA in Graphics in 2002) and I also completed the Qualifying Course in the Field of Fine Art Pedagogy at the University of Arts in Poznan. My work experience includes freelancing, commissions for illustration studios, advertising agencies, publishing houses and individuals, cooperation with art galleries, running my own art studio (graphic, design, illustration, painting, creative photography), teaching arts at Fine Art High School in Wroclaw. In 2007 I started Fenomenarium - my very own Drawing, Painting, Design and Sculpture Workshops, which I'm running to this date. The passion for arts never lets me rest so I create and exhibit my works home and abroad.
