ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The monochrome interpretation of the blossoming cherry motif is part of the series in which I recall childhood memories. Cherries grew in my garden, which we followed closely with my family. The cycle of fruit trees was a very important everyday companion for us. The artwork is not framed and I suggest not framing it, because it has a thick texture, which can additionally act as a relief - I show it in the additional photos.

I move between different styles, combining abstraction with figuration. Concerning themes and my color palette, I have no restrictions, with one exception: I avoid dramatism in depicted situations. Only the scale between extensive backgrounds and minor human figures or vehicles is constant. I am inspired by Dutch painting, especially by Peter Breughel. I like to think of my paintings as a kind of poetry without words.
