ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It was a challenging period, filled with worries, doubts and uncertainties. In ‘complicated’ times, painting has always been my refuge and therapy. Through painting, I’m able to turn negative stressful feelings into beauty and hope. While I couldn’t find words back then to describe the complexity of occurrences, nor my volatile emotional state, I felt that this work managed to capture everything I went through, including the change of mood through the art making process.

I'm a self-taught Israeli artist. I’ve been painting intensively for 25 years, using colors like nobody else. I pursue an adventurous lifestyle as an ongoing inspiration. I never plan. When I’m in the zone, plugged into to my subconscious, I just follow the lines and colors I see. That's my simple secret to unlimited originality. I began painting in 1995, co-founded the Almogan Art Gallery in 1997. Between 2002-2012 I lived in Las-Terrenas, Dominican Republic, and co-founded “Fundacion Marlee-Jo”, a non-profit for local children. I have created art under 40 different artistic identities.
